I’m an entrepreneur who enjoys growing innovative high-tech businesses. I’ve moved around a lot from my scientific roots, using that experience widely in business. After academic research I moved into industry, quickly migrating from R&D to marketing and general management, in large companies and small start-up businesses. More recently I’ve been involved in venture capital investing and in innovation policy. I currently work in the public sector at the UK’s innovation agency. I like change and challenge and am happy to talk about scientific careers in business and the thrills and risks of being an entrepreneur. Plenty of experience, good and bad, to share on juggling full time career with family as my two children reach their teenage years.
