I have been teaching history for the past 12 years, currently at Putney High School as Head of Politics, Deputy Head of History and of 6th form. I came to teaching after a change of career – after Newnham, I went into the travel business and had a fabulous time as a high-flying hotel contractor & tour operator. Twenty years and three children later, I opted for a more family-friendly career. Since then, I have been constantly amazed by how fulfilling and exciting and deeply stimulating I find the humble job of teaching!
