As part of our commitment to helping the College, Associates are eager to help Senior Members in various ways.
We hold regular workshops at Newnham for current students, organised jointly with the JCR and MCR. They are often focused on aspects of career planning, job hunting or personal development. See the events page for further details. If you have suggestions for workshops that would benefit your students, please add a comment to this page or get in touch directly.
Associates are happy to help individual senior members. We can help in many different ways, including giving advice, mentoring, or just listening. We also offer networking opportunities, and contacts for those working or travelling abroad. If you think someone might be able to help you, or one of your students, just get in touch with her through the Associates’ directory. Many of us also have extensive networks of contacts, so please get in touch if you are looking for expertise in any area, even if it’s not directly within our experience.
We are also involved with the subject networking lunches for alumnae and students held at the College and attend subject Formal Halls in College. We’re happy to try to attend other College events if you think it would be useful – please just let us know.
We have a small amount of funding available for activities connected with the College. We prefer our funding to assist students in some way, or to assist outreach activities to potential students.
